After graduating from Southampton Medical School in 1979, David moved to London to undertake his otolaryngology training at Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. After rotations through St Bartholomew's, and The London medical school, David gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1984. He had the privilege to work under Andrew Morrison at the London Hospital and developed a special interest in Skull Base surgery culminating in a research fellowship at the University of Ann Arbor in Michigan in 1989. He returned to London to complete his Head and Neck Oncology training at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

Moving to Bristol in 1990, David has developed an expertise in micro-neural, micro-vascular and endoscopic surgical techniques establishing a regional tertiary referral practice within the NHS and Private sector. He continues to enjoy the challenge of this complex surgical discipline and with other members of a patient focused multidisciplinary team can now offer comprehensive leading edge care of the highest quality for all his patients.
