After graduating from Oxford University, Paul Tierney trained in ENT surgery at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London.  This led to a broad experience in general ENT surgery, with an emphasis on endoscopic sinus surgery and thyroid surgery.  Specialist training attachments at Great Ormond Street Hospital and in Australia followed.  In 1999 Paul gained the FRCS (ORL-HNS) and was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Laryngology Gold medal.  He was appointed to Southmead and Weston Hospitals as Consultant ENT Surgeon in January 2002.

Paul has a particular interest in sinus disease and cosmetic nasal surgery and believe that the use of minimally invasive techniques has revolutionised sinus and nasal surgery.  His general ENT practise encompasses all aspects of the specialty including thyroid surgery and paediatric ENT surgery.  His goal is to work with colleagues to deliver the best possible ENT care to our local population whilst promoting Bristol as a centre of excellence.
